Ordering Your Guitar
Red Mountain Guitars is focused on building one-of-a-kind, custom guitars to your specifications and needs. Therefore, I don’t have a wide selection on hand. If you are interested in acquiring one or more instruments, please contact me, and we can begin the ordering and design process.
Here are the key design factors and decisions we’ll discuss:
- Main style of play
- Desired tone characteristics
- Body size and shape
- Neck shape
- Scale length (length of the fingerboard/neck)
- Woods: soundboard, back and sides, fretboard, headcap & bridge
- Fretboard inlay
- Pick guard
- Pick-up system
I hope this list illustrates just how much you will have to say about your guitar. My aim is to deliver an instrument that you’ll love to play, will sound terrific and that you’ll be proud to show.
Pricing & Warranty
Your answers to the questions above and the market prices for woods will impact the cost. You can expect a range of between $2,500 and $4,000 for your guitar.
Red Mountain Guitars guarantees full satisfaction with the delivery of every guitar. Read the warranty policy here.
Ordering and Payment Process
Once the design of your guitar is completed, a $500 non-refundable deposit will be requested to accompany the formal order and to hold your place in the production schedule in my shop. I will let you know at that time of an expected date for start of construction. When I am ready to begin construction, we will have one more conversation to confirm final design specifications. At that time I will request a payment of 30% of the cost of the guitar in order to begin construction. No design changes can be made after construction begins. Once the guitar is finished, I will expect the balance owed to be paid on delivery, if in person, or, if shipping is the method of delivery, before the guitar is shipped to you.
Call me. I’d love to work with you.
